Plus 1

Plus 1 - That's Gary code word to me when he wants to let me know that one more person has been added to the Kingdom of God! Two weeks ago as Gary was preparing to leave Lewis Correctional Facility to drive home following the weekly Bible study with inmates, Gary texted me "Plus 1" and I immediately knew that the Holy Spirit had been at work in the hearts at Lewis. After Gary got home he told me that at the beginning of the Bible study he mentioned that the lesson for that night was aimed mainly at believers and asked if there was anyone in the room who was not sure of their salvation. One new man who was sitting right in the front of the room near Gary shook his head and when Gary asked, he said he knew he was not saved. At that point Gary began to go through the Gospel and when he finished, the inmate said, "That's what I want". There in front of 25 of his fellow inmates he stood and prayed, repenting of his sin, and asking Christ to come into his life and save him. What a wonderful time of praise and celebration followed as one more had been added to the Kingdom. Please pray for the inmates at Lewis. Pray too for Gary and his 2 faithful helpers, Val and Greg. And praise the Lord with us as we see God working in mighty ways to reach people, no matter where they are in their lives, with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!
